We're building the governance layer for software written by agents.

Agents already write the code. RootBlocks governs the decisions, the evidence, and the compliance behind it — so teams can ship fast and still prove what happened.

The bet

SonarQube audits code. Runtime tools audit runtime. Vanta and Drata audit the company, after the fact. Nobody governs the plane where agentic construction actually happens: which decision backs this change, what evidence proves this agent-built slice is safe and approved, what can run in parallel, how you export all of it as compliance.

That empty plane, plus a hard regulatory deadline, plus the pieces we'd already built, is the opportunity. We're entering through governance — the defensible side — and earning the right to govern execution next.

How we got here

We built the pieces first: a deterministic build engine, verifiable contracts for what agents produce, an enterprise auth layer, and an agentic factory that took an issue all the way to a pull request.

Running that factory taught us the real lesson. An agent factory without a governance plane underneath is ungovernable by construction — gates that aren't enforced, agents without sandboxing, evidence nobody can read. That happens to anyone who runs agents without a control plane below them. The plane is the product. The pieces became its modules.

SliceOps and RootBlocks

SliceOps is the open framework for governed agentic construction — a spec of principles, rules, and reference schemas that turn agent work into recorded decisions, signed evidence, and auditable slices. RootBlocks is the platform that operationalizes it day to day: the Console, Standard, Builder, and Runner that make the methodology real — the way GitHub operationalizes Git, or Jira operationalizes Scrum. The framework is open and permissively licensed; read it in full at sliceops.org.

We are customer zero

Every line of RootBlocks is planned and built with the method RootBlocks sells: atomic slices, logged decisions, evidence by construction. 800+ decision records and counting. If it doesn't hold up for us, it doesn't ship to you.
